Haley Bauser

of Carbon Jam Band

 

Sixteen-year old, singer/songwriter Haley Bauser has been compared to a young Janis Joplin and Grace Slick. Haley first became interested in music at the age of four when she began taking lessons in classical singing. She began learning to play guitar in fifth grade. Over the next several years, she continued to explore musical styles such as classical, pop, rock, country, reggae, ska, and other eclectic genres. At the age of 13, she began exploring creativity as a singer/songwriter by performing at the open mic located at the Holiday Food Mart on General Booth. The welcoming people there made her feel comfortable with the idea of music as a career. At the age of 14, she joined Carbon Jam as the lead singer and guitarist, covering a wide variety of music and writing original material. Carbon Jam has performed at many venues such as the Jewish Mother, the NorVa, and the Virginia Beach oceanfront stages. Comments about the band include praise such as, “Since the band members are young enough to be my offspring, I was ready to find them ‘full of potential,’ at best. By the chorus of the first song, however, that had changed. This band kicks butt! Anyone who can channel Janis Joplin or Grace Slick like Ms Bauser is a treasure. I'm hard to impress when it comes to the classics-- don't take on those rock goddesses, Hendrix, or Zeppelin unless you can deliver- and these kids delivered!” Haley hopes to make a career out of music. She is dedicated to spending her life making her dreams come true
